Summary: 
The On-Call Substitute is responsible for providing on-call program support in the event of a staff absence or as additional program support. Qualifications:

Elementary School Chinese Support Teacher Job Description
 
The Chinese Support Teacher is instrumental in influencing the lives of children at Global Citizens PCS, so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Support teachers will support the lead Mandarin Chinese teachers with creating a student-centered learning environment that respects the culture and identity of each and every child. In early childhood, our children will learn all content areas in the partner language (Mandarin Chinese) for approximately 90% of the school day. They will learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. In elementary school (Kindergarten through 5th grade), we use a 50/50 model, where our children receive standards-based instruction (aligned to the Common Core State Standards) in reading, writing, math, and science in the target language for 50% of the time and in English for 50% of the time (each day). The Chinese Support Teacher will collaborate with the lead Mandarin Chinese teacher to implement lessons in the partner language (Mandarin Chinese) and also serve as a model for the partner language. The Chinese Support Teacher will also facilitate small group instruction and lead mini-lessons on a regular basis. Together, each teacher will work in tandem to positively impact student development by creating a warm and inviting learning environment; building relationships with students and families; creatively designing and implementing effective lessons within a free and liberating classroom environment; analyzing and interpreting data; collaborating professionally with colleagues; and, participating in the larger school-wide community. <li>Uses computer assisted design/drafting software to develop project documentation as models and drawings.</li>
<li>Provides Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) coordination and Electrical modeling activities in Autodesk based software environment.</li>
<li>Creates and revises project drawings (fabrication and construction).</li>
<li>Utilizes knowledge of various construction and engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete models and drawings.</li>
<li>Creates detailed multi-view drawings of assigned projects.</li>
<li>Creates 3D modeling from 2D drawings.</li>
<li>Creates 3D modeling from sketches and proposals.</li>
<li>Serves as a liaison with clients and other contractors regarding drawings and models.</li>
<li>Attend coordination meetings.</li>
<li>Occasionally assists with presentations for visualization or animation activities.</li>
<li>Communicates with Fabrication, Design, Engineering and Construction supervision regarding new and revised prints. Other duties may be assigned.</li>

Position Requirements:
<ul>
<li>License:None required.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Education:Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>
<li>Experience:Minimum 2 years experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum 2 years experience with modeling authoring software such as Revit and AutoCAD, coordination software such as Navisworks, and design collaboration software such as BIM Collaborate Pro preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to take verbal and general written direction well, ability to turn that direction into working constructability documents.</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities, as necessary.</li>
<li>Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.</li>
<li>Ability to understand technical drawings and construction plans.</li>
<li>Ability to type, proofread, spell check work without supervision.</li>
<li>Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the BIM team, either via posting to website or the Internet or via hard copy.</li>
</ul>
Working Conditions: 
<ul>
<li>This is primarily an Office position but periodically requires working in weather elements; heat and cold depending on job location and time of year.</li>
<li>Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).</li>
<li>Work in restricted or confined areas such as switch gear-rooms, etc.</li>
<li>Must wear all personal protective equipment as required.</li>
<li>Must be able to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required.</li>
</ul>
Required Physical/Mental Functions:

<li>Positively identify colors of wire and other items as required.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Comprehension of construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.</li>
<li>Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Handbook.</li>
<li>Operate a company truck if applicable.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.</li>
<li>Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction). Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.</li>
<li>Able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.</li>
<li>Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.</li>
<li>Climb ladders (all types).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.</li>
<li>Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.</li>
</ul>
