Position Summary
The Life Skills Coach for Enrich Dallas helps clients with their planned goals, recreational activities (e.g. lake sports, swimming, rock climbing), vocational opportunities, life skills and personal care. The Life Skills coach supplies clients support for generalizing learned skills and teaching new skills. Additionally, they use company transportation to transport clients and ensure safety at events in the community. 
Position Qualifications

Preferred: A minimum of an associate degree or credits equivalent to Junior in College (at least 60 hours)

Required: Highschool diploma or GED 
</li>
<li>
Required: Some experience working with individuals with ASD or intellectual disabilities.

Required: Must complete Company Training within the first 90 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, and CPI
</li>

Preferred: RBT Certification

Required: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Provide individualized life skills training to assist clients in planning daily activities, daily life skills, budgeting, cooking, social skills, communication skills and other programs to enhance the lives of our clients.

Assist clients with summer recreational activities (e.g. lake sports, swimming, rock climbing) and the daily life skills that coincide (applying sunscreen, water intake, packing for the day etc.)

Provide practice for career readiness skills

Provide hygiene skills training, when applicable (nail cutting, teeth brushing, shaving etc.)

Observe client’ behavior and collect data as directed based on programming and behavior intervention plans.

Provide transportation and ensure safety for all passengers by following individual programming while in route (safety belts, personal space etc.). Teach and maintain clean vehicle procedures (gas, car wash etc.).

<li>Oversees compliance with GRAMA and OPMA and appoints a GRAMA office.</li>

</ul>
Budget:
<ul>
<li>Work with Business Manager, Controller, and Department Managers to prepare and submit budgets to the Board and County Council annually; review all significant aspects of the budget with the Board.</li>
<li>Carefully monitor the adopted budget and prepare financial reports for the Board's review; bring any significant variance to the Board's attention; keep the Board informed of the District's financial position.</li>
<li>Oversee necessary District budget adjustments and be accountable for timely debt service payments and financial filings.</li>
<li>Oversee each Department Manager's preparation of the department budgets and effectively balance the financial needs of all departments to benefit the District as a whole.</li>
<li>Review and approve expenditures by department and ensure each Department Manager has timely and accurate financial reports to manage their budgets effectively.</li>
<li>Acts as the Districts Purchasing Agent and District Risk Manager</li>
</ul>
Personnel Management:
<ul>
<li>Monitor and evaluate employee performance; effectively support a goal-oriented working environment to facilitate the staff's success in the organization.</li>
<li>Facilitate and be accountable for inter- and intradepartmental communications between all District departments and staff.</li>
<li>Evaluate staffing requirements and direct/participate in staffing decisions; in conjunction with Department Managers, provide training for employees and identify needs for professional development; monitor and evaluate employee performance.</li>
<li>Supervise the staff through Department Managers; ensure that all personnel operate in their assigned functions; ensure that staff follow through and execute Board decisions and policies. Supervise and assign department goals, functions, and staffing.</li>
<li>Maintain good rapport with all staff and take steps to ensure a harmonious yet effective workforce.</li>
<li>Hold Department Managers accountable and ensure that they enforce policies to achieve operational objectives.</li>
<li>Organize a concise recruitment plan and carefully screen candidates when department manager vacancies occur; maintain a highly qualified professional staff.</li>
<li>Oversee job descriptions and the position salary structure with defined grades for full-time exempt and hourly employees of the District as a part of the annual budget process; recommend merit increases and staff bonuses for approval by the Board.</li>
<li>Periodically meet with staff to inspect trails, parks, and recreation facilities; follow through to ensure safety and maintenance issues are remedied.</li>
<li>Participate in construction coordination meetings as needed for the District capital projects in conjunction with Department Managers.</li>
<li>Implement safety programs and requirements to ensure staff and public activities are conducted in a safe/secure manner by trained personnel.</li>
</ul>

Board Relations:
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with Board leadership on the development of meeting agendas.</li>
<li>Attend all Board meetings and discuss/review all agenda items.</li>
<li>Participate in Board committee meetings as assigned or as needed.</li>
<li>Respond to inquiries/questions from the Board, including appropriate follow-up.</li>
<li>Provide the Board with necessary information to facilitate discussions on policy decisions.</li>
<li>Give Department Managers’ input and recommendations in policy development and participate in discussions with the Board when appropriate.</li>
<li>Utilize recreation professionals on staff to assist Board Members in gaining a better understanding of the parks and recreation profession and advise the Board on professional development opportunities.</li>
<li>Through the Board Chair, keep Board Members advised of matters of importance as they develop between Board meetings.</li>
<li>Review hiring trends, advancements, or issues with the Board in a manner in line with policies.</li>
